The Beginning of the End
Holy Monday marks the beginning of Jesus’ last week of earthly God-with-us ministry. On Sunday he rode into Jerusalem on a donkey, and on Monday he’s flipping over tables and chasing people out of the temple. If they didn’t know what Jesus was about until this point, they certainly learned after that.
This week of the Christian calendar marks the final stretch towards Easter after journeying through Lent.
L etting go of what hinders me
E ven if just for forty days.
N ew perspectives, and fresh reflection.
T o you and for you, Lord.
The Lenten journey is usually marked by giving something up. A glimpse of sacrifice intended to point to Christ’s forty days of prayer and fasting before the ultimate sacrifice on the cross on our behalf.
is practice makes perfect a thing
when giving a thing up & enjoying control are partners
in crime but also two sides of the same coin
so maybe no crime just life
difficult to grasp but then you see that thing
you're giving up was never really yours to
control.
Whether it’s our first or fifty-first, whatever our Lenten journey’s looked like, my hope is that we’ll get to know Jesus better.
Jesus, a man riding on a lowly donkey.
Disrupter of assumptions and shifter of paradigms…
the Jesus I have come to know.
Who is the Jesus you’ve come to know?
Until tomorrow,
Becky
