It’s finally here!
Although technically, it’s been here for over a month.
It turns out that self-published books don’t really have all that pre-order excitement that tends to accompany traditionally published books that can only be accessed on release day.
Glimpses of Love: The Most Excellent Way of Imperfection has been available from the moment I first uploaded that pdf file to Amazon in late December of 2022.
I still loved the idea of a launch team leading the way towards a set point in time where my book’s birth could be celebrated. I’d been part of enough book launch teams to know I wanted to provide a similar opportunity for readers to rally around my own book baby when the time came.
The word “love” in the title made a February 14th book launch date a no-brainer. That, and the fact my first speaking engagement based on the book had already been scheduled for February 18th. Fun fact: that speaking engagement was scheduled in August of 2022, before I’d even finalized my book draft enough to pass on to an editor.
Putting the cart before the horse much, Becky?
Maybe. But getting that date in the calendar was exactly what my dragging feet needed to take those final steps towards the publishing finish line.
My “race” shirt in the photo below was chosen on purpose. Más amor por favor.
More love, please.
That love leaves glimpses where we least expect it, in and through grace.
Just like running the race towards publishing this book, running the race of life happens one step at a time. Some days, it’s a grace-filled step, and many other days, it’s a gritty step. I find most days to be a funky combination of both. I know that the sharp and hard places in life are designed to make me stronger. The unmerited kindness from God strengthens me for the journey in a way that helps the grit seem less gritty. The grit gives me clarity to see the gift of grace.
A truly amazing race is much more than just a finish line. We’ve fooled ourselves into thinking this whole grace thing is primarily focused on the heavenly portion of our run, but grace is the fuel that gets us through this life. Grace is of eternal significance during our race, not just at the finish line.
It astonishes and astounds us, leaving us bewildered, confused, and overwhelmed with emotion. Grace disturbs and disrupts our minds.
What makes grace so amazing is its relentless and irresistible push towards the reconciling love of Jesus.
How sweet the sound, indeed.
Until next time,
Becky

And speaking of joining in…
Here are a few ways you can help support my book launch even if you’re not part of the launch team!
if you haven’t purchased the book yet, click here to get your copy!
if you already have your copy, you can leave a review either TODAY or TOMORROW:
book reviews matter BIG time! think about what you'd tell a friend about Glimpses of Love - that's your review! Even just two sentences is super helpful. Truly. You don't have to read to the very last line of the very last page before writing a short review. The biggest thing is bumping the total number of reviews higher and higher!
*hint: you can leave the same review on multiple sites, just copy and paste.*
you can help give the book a little bit of social media RELEASE WEEK love.
comment on OR share my most recent post:
You can also pick an image (an image of you reading, something from your camera roll, etc.) and post to Instagram or Facebook with a caption that mentions the book! If you haven't done so already, I would LOVE it if you put your review in the caption. People want to know what YOU think and they trust your opinion.
